DAY 01 Frankfurt – transfer to Heidelberg
A warm welcome awaits you upon arrival Frankfurt Airport by your Tour Director. Transfer to Heidelberg and enjoy a leisurely tour of this ancient university city. See the church Holy Ghost, the Old University and drive up to Heidelberg's Castle originally of Renaissance architecture, since about 200 years remained as a ruin on the hill. From the castle terrace enjoy a splendid view overlooking the town and River Neckar. Later, transfer to your hotel near the city following by a welcome cocktail with your Tour Director (1 overnight at Hotel Queens).
DAY 02 Heidelberg – Baden-Baden – Freiburg – Black Forest
Today we head south with our first stop at Baden-Baden, Europe's most luxurious spa resort. A walking tour will show the lovely Kur-Garten and the world's most famous and elegant Casino. Some free time left before we continue to Freiburg for a lunch break. The following afternoon orientation drive will stop at the Minster of the 13th century and one of Germany's greatest church of Gothic architecture. See the old Town Hall with its carillon and the University laid out around a courtyard. - From here drive right into the scenic Glottertal Valley for your hotel amidst the beautiful Black Forest.

DAY 03 Black Forest – Titisee – Rhine River Falls – Zurich
The morning drive of this wonderful day excursion starts with a stop at Titisee, a charming village situated on a lake of natural beauty and known for its famous cuckoo-clocks. - On to Schaffhausen with our next stop in Switzerland, to view the mighty Rhine River Falls, following a lunch break in Stein, a most picturesque and medieval Swiss town on the banks of the Rhine River. View old burgher houses with colorful painted facades from the 15th and 16th centuries. - Soon arriving Zurich, Switzerland's largest city on Lake Zurich. The city tour includes the Peterskirche on a medieval square at the River Limmat with Europe's tallest and most famous 16th century clock. Visit the copper-spire Fraumuenster features stain-glass windows by Marc Chagall. Stroll on the fancy shopping street Bahnhofstrasse and find at its south end a nice resting place with views of the lake. - During the afternoon return to your hotel in the Black Forest.

DAY 04 Black Forest – Basel – Lucerne – Interlaken
Our morning tour leads first to Basel, the boundary for France, Germany and Switzerland. An orientation drive will show you the old part and pedestrian zone, viewing its colorful Marketplace and Town Hall covered with frescos, before we arrive Lucerne for the lunch break.- Beautiful surrounded by the mountains Mt. Pilatus and Mt. Rigi, the sightseeing will stop at the famous Lion Monument right at the Glacier Garden, dedicated to the Swiss soldiers. Step on the much visited wooden Chapel Bridge of the 14th century and admire old paintings depicting scenes from its history. See also the chapel of St. Peter and close by its picturesqueWater Tower. Shop or browse around before we continue our tour arriving Interlaken at the foot of the mighty mountain Jungfrau, rising nearly 13.000 feet. Enjoy this evening the picturesque location between the lakes of Thun and Brienz.

DAY 05 Interlaken –Gruyeres –Montreux – Zermatt
Your day begins with a breathtaking Alpine drive to Gruyeres with a stop at a typical Swiss cheese factory. Try a free sample before we leave this beautiful old town for Lake Geneva passing Vevey, last rest place of Charly Chaplin and on to the delightful resort of Montreux at the lake for our next stop and lunch break. Enjoy here the lovely lakeside promenades with lush and green vegetation before we leave and stop again to view the 9th century Chillon Castle with its towers reflected in the waters.- Then our route leads via Sion to Taesch, from where a spectacular mountain railroad ride takes us up to Zermatt in the shadow of its world-famous mountain Matterhorn.

DAY 06 Zermatt
A full day of leisure awaits you in this sparkling mountain town. Relax, stroll or watch local costumes and mountaineers of all nationalities, destined to climb the mountain Matterhorn. Or why not take a horse carriage ride to the mountain station and consider a thrilling cable car excursion up to an altitude of about 10.000 feet and enjoy from the Gornergrat imposing vistas of the Swiss and Italian alpine chains ...!

DAY 07 Zermatt – Lago Maggiore – Lugano – LakeComo – St. Moritz
Following breakfast we leave this unique mountain resort and drive through snow-capped mountains to Locarno at beautiful Lake Maggiore with its lovely islands and tropical gardens with a stop. Then to Lugano, the Swiss-Italian resort between the mountains Bre and San Salvadore. View the city's attractive main station with decorated portals in Renaissance style and with Baroque interior. From its terrace enjoy a magnificent view of Lake Lugano and the city. - Entering Italy's Lombardy district and Lake Como, the route winds along the shores passing fertile gardens and beautiful villas, before we arrive the border at Chiavenna and return to Switzerland. Soon, crossing the Maloja Pass with spectacular views, passing Silvaplana and arrive St. Moritz, known as a spa resort for centuries and as a winter playground of the fashionable world.

DAY 08 St. Moritz – Innsbruck
The morning starts with a leisurely journey through the beautiful Engadin valley and along the Swiss National Park with its colorful flora and alpine wildlife. At the Reschen Mountain Pass we enter Austria and continue through scenic valleys of Tyrol. We stop at the small town of Landeck dominated by its 12th century castle. Following lunch break it takes from here just one hour drive to Innsbruck, capital of the Alpine province Tyrol and site of twoWinter Olympics. Freshen up at your hotel before the sightseeing will show Arcades and Arches of this 800 years old university town. See the City Tower and its landmark Golden Dachl, an ancient mansion noted for its gilded copper roof. Visit the 16th century Court Church and admire here former Emperor Maximilian I, surrounded by 28 huge bronze statues of his ancestors and other famous rulers like King Arthur of England. Finally, and from Maria-Theresienstrasse enjoy an unforgettable view of the Alps, before we return to our hotel.

DAY 09 Innsbruck – St. Florian – Vienna
Today, your journey re-enters Germany with our first morning stop in Bernau, near Bavaria's Lake Chiemsee. It was here on an island that former King Ludwig has built one of his famous castles in 1878, called Herrenchiemsee-Castle. The route continues further eastwards for our next lunch stop near St. Florian following a visit at its 14th century Abbey to see the gorgeous organ where Anton Bruckner used to compose most of his wonderful church music. - After a leisurely break on to Vienna in time for freshen up and dinner at the hotel.

DAY 10 Vienna
The morning sightseeing tour of Austria's great capital will include all highlights of this former Habsburg Empire. Admire arts and treasures reflected in its churches, palaces and museums. Your tour starts with a visit at spectacular Schoenbrunn Palace, built by Empress Maria Theresa. View just some of the 1.400 rooms and apartments sumptuously furnished in Baroque and Rococo style with a variety of Bohemian chandeliers, Indian- and Chinese lacquer-works. See the Hall of Mirrors where small boy Mozart played for Maria Theresa or visit other exhibition halls, depending on various inside tours. Outside, enjoy a superb view from the monument Gloriette of its park and gardens. Following a lunch break, you will return to the city's main street Ringstrasse and will see magnificent buildings such as Opera House, the Parliament, its City Hall, the former imperial residence Hofburg and St. Stephan's Cathedral. Right here at the car free pedestrian zone your tour ends and the rest of the afternoon is free to do as you please. Perhaps you try nearby at the Opera a tasty piece of cake at the world-famous Hotel-Cafe Sacha, before you later return to your hotel.

DAY 11 Vienna – Danube River Cruise – Salzburg
We leave Vienna this morning for another highlight of this tour and stop at Krems to board a steamer for an upstream Danube River Cruise through the lovely wine region of theWachau passing charming villages and castle ruins. At Melk we disembark and visit one of the most beautiful baroque Abbeys, founded in the early 12th century. - Following a lunch break, we continue by motorcoach by way of Linz and travel through Austria's most picturesque Salzkammergut to Salzburg for dinner and overnight.

DAY 12 Salzburg – Lake Mondsee – Munich
Truly, one of Europe's loveliest cities is Salzburg! The morning tour includes the Domplatz, Mirabell Castle and Garden, impressive Hellbrunn Castle with its fabulous fountains and the 35 bells Glockenspiel. Enjoy a close view to the great 11th century fortress Hohensalzburg and walk the charming shopping street Getreidegasse with its house number 9, Mozart's birthplace. - The sightseeing tour continues to nearby Mondsee amidst the marvelous region of Salzkammergut for our lunch break. See here its former collegiate church, today used as the parish church with two towers, a beautiful crypt and a Baroque facade, scene of the wonderful film „The Sound of Music Country ”. - After a leisurely break, we leave Austria today and re-enter the border for Germany and soon arriving Munich, the capital of Bavaria.

DAY 13 Munich
The sightseeing tour of Bavaria's cultural and artistic center starts with the Marienplatz and City Hall, known also for its unique Glockenspiel. You view the Mariensaeule and visit its imposing Gothic landmark Frauenkirche, the Odeonsplatz and Sendlinger Tor and of course the infamous Hofbraeuhaus that doesn't need much explanation. - After a lunch break within the pedestrian zone we drive by way of the former Olympic Grounds to the flower filled park of Nymphenburg Palace to visit its incomparable Horse Carriage Museum of King Ludwig II.- Return to the city center and spend the rest of afternoon at your leisure.- The highlight of this evening will be a special dinner at Munich's most popular restaurant with Bavarian music and local folklore entertainment.

DAY 14 Munich – Ulm – Rothenburg/Romantic Road
Leaving fun-lovingMunich this morning on the autobahn, first by way of Augsburg and Ulm, birthplace of Albert Einstein, with a stop and to visit its mighty Swabian Gothic Cathedral, known for the world's tallest spire. Inside, the four aisles are covered in a grandiose style with fine fan vaulting and sides are decorated with colorful coat of arms. You will see the beautiful Town Hall, a Gothic and Renaissance building with rich painted facades. Nearby, you are invited today for lunch at a private German-Swabian home. -With impressions of hospitality, continue along the Romantic Road to medieval Rothenburg to admire half-timbered houses lining cobbled streets, walls and towers of the 16th century, still preserved in its original style. On a walking tour see also the famous altar piece of wood-carver Tilman Riemenschneider and the lively market square with its Glockenspiel. - Tonight, you will participate in a drawing with handmade gifts from all the Alpine regions you have visited - with everyone winning!

DAY 15 Rothenburg – Last day of tour
With fond memories of this ALPINE WONDERLAND TOUR, you leave this morning Germany's Romantic Road for your transfer to Frankfurt Airport. - Say „Auf Wiedersehen” to the Old World and depart for your return flight.
