DAY 01 Munich
A warm welcome awaits you upon arrival Munich Airport by the Tour Director, following a welcome reception at booked hotel. - The afternoon city sightseeing of Bavarian's capital, cultural and artistic center will show you all main sights, like the Marienplatz with its column Virgin, the Gothic Church of our Lady and Munich's landmark since the 15th century, the beautiful Town Hall with its carillon made of fine copper figures, the most celebrated Hofbraeuhaus that doesn't need much explanation, the Food Market with its Church of the Holy Ghost, you view the Residenz palace, built for the former Bavarian dukes of Wittelsbach with its first construction of the 14th century - and the Olympic Park of 1972 with a Stadium for 80.000 visitors covered by a tent roof. The rest of the day is yours to do as you please. (5 overnights at Hotel Mercure City).
DAY 02 Excursion: Tyrol`s capital Innsbruck
A scenic morning drive stops first at Tegernsee, one of Bavaria's most idyllic summer resorts. - Crossing over the Achen Pass into Austria and along the mighty Karwendel mountains, we arrive at small town Rattenberg amidst the lovely Inn River Valley and known for its famous modeled and engraved glassware. Following a workshop demonstration and lunch break, we continue to nearby Innsbruck, capital of the alpine province Tyrol and site of Winter Olympic Games. The city tour leads first on the main street to see its St. Anne Column and to enjoy from here an imposing view of the northern mountain chain rising up to an altitude of almost 8.000 feet. - Within a few walking minutes you will arrive its car-free zone and Golden Dachl, a charming mansion with gilded copper shingles built during the late 15th century for celebrating Emperor Maximilian I`s wedding. Another highlight of Innsbruck will be a visit at the Hofkirche, a magnificent mausoleum also built for Maximilian I with 28 large bronze statues of famous rulers like King Arthur of England and his ancestors. -Time now is yours to browse around before we return to Munich by way of Kufstein with a stop, crowned by a fortress above the Inn River.

DAY 03 Excursion: Castle Neuschwanstein - Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Oberammergau
A beautiful morning starts with a stop at small town Hohenschwangau to visit Castle Neuschwanstein, one of former King Ludwig's three castles. This white and dream-like fortress was built 1869 by sketches of a theatrical decorator which explains the fairy-tale atmosphere. You will tour some of the inside rooms with heavy tapestries in Romanesque and Byzantine style, the Singershall with fine candelabra and chandeliers. Admire also King Ludwig's unique bed room with artistic wood carvings and an artificial grotto of stalactite recall opera themes of his patron Richard Wagner. - Outside step on the Marienbruecke, which spans a deep gorge to enjoy a panoramic view of the Upper Bavarian mountains and its lakes. -Following a lunch break down in the village, we continue to the much visited winter sports resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen with an orientation drive and a stop at picturesque lake Eibsee, to view Germany's highest mountain Zugspitze with a height of almost 10.000 feet.- After this leisurely stop we drive to the old Bavarian town of Oberammergau to see its beautiful painted burgher houses and the world-famous Passion Play theater with a seating for about 5.000 spectators. In 2000 more than 600.000 visitors witnessed over 100 performances from May to October; next Plays given by the inhabitants will be in the year of 2010. - Time here will be yours now to stroll around or visit inviting woodcarving shops before we return to our hotel in Munich.

DAY 04 Excursion: Salzburg & its Sound of Music Country
Today's morning drive leads out of Munich on the German autobahn, by way of Bavarian's largest lake Chiemsee and location of King Ludwig's second castle Herrenchiemsee on an island. Soon from here we enter the border for Austria and arrive at Salzburg, truly one of Europe's most picturesque cities, dominated by its stronghold Hohensalzburg of the 11th century. - An orientation drive first will pass the Horse Trough monument, used for the arch-bishop's stables 300 years ago. You will drive along the Festspielhaus for the annual Salzburg Festivals and will stop at the Mirabell Gardens to see the remains of a luxurious 17th century mansion. - The center of Salzburg includes within minutes of walk the lively shopping Getreidegasse with numerous and colorful wrought iron signs and its house number 9, birthplace of Mozart. You will see the Domplatz and Cathedral, a great construction of the 17th century, view the Residenz, seat of the former archbishops and place where the Emperors Franz-Josef, Kaiser Wilhelm and Napoleon III met in 1871 after the Battle of Sedan. -Time is yours again to shop or browse around before our excursions continues into Austria's Salzkammergut and lake district Mondsee to visit its lake and 15th century Abbey, since 1740 used as a Parish Church of Baroque style and site for the beautiful film. The Sound of Music. Take some photos of this historic church and lovely town and leave for Munich during the later afternoon.

DAY 05 Excursion: Munich`s Nymphenburg Palace & Horse Carriage Museum
The morning is at your complete disposal. - Early afternoon depart for Munich's Nymphenburg Castle surrounded by a beautiful park. You will see some rooms of Bavaria's most famous palace, the great Banquet Room, the Painting Gallery of Beauties, 24 portraits of most beautiful women that time, including Lola Montez ordered by King Ludwig I, grandfather of Ludwig II. -Another highlight will be a visit at the Royal Horse Carriage Museum with a great display of splendid coaches, sedan-chairs, the coronation coach of the first Wittelsbach Emperor Karl VII and incomparable sledges of eccentric King Ludwig II. - Tonight you are invited at one of Munich's famous restaurants for dinner, local music and folklore entertainment.

DAY 06 Munich - Last day of tour
After breakfast it`s time to leave for your airport transfer. -You are filled now with impressions of most beautiful landscapes and of Bavaria's and Austria's culture and historic architecture. - Say: Auf Wiedersehen! - or why not just extend your stay with us...!
