Historic Tour of Warsaw & Berlin
Warsaw - Poznan - Berlin - Potsdam
A great journey to Poland's Warsaw and Poznan that have preserved an independent heritage against all kind of invasions. Enjoy its great plains, lakes and dense forests and travel with us off the beaten track to Chopin's birthplace. Explore also Germany's new capital Berlin with all of its historic monuments and visit Friedrich the Great's Palace of Sanssouci in Potsdam!
DAY 01 Warsaw
A warm welcome awaits you by your Tour Director upon arrival Warsaw Airport. - Transfer to your hotel and join us this evening for a welcome reception and brief orientation. (2 overnights at Hotel Mercure).
DAY 02 Warsaw
Your morning starts with a good breakfast and a sightseeing tour of Poland's capital, once almost razed to "Ground Zero" during World War II but risen back to a modern and bustling city. See its rebuilt old town quarter and market square, the statue of former King Sigismund and visit the Museum of Warsaw History, including a short film introduction of Warsaw's destruction and reconstruction. - Your sightseeing continues to the site of the former Jewish Ghetto with its impressive memorial. Following is an entrance to the Royal Palace and to its apartments to see the Throne Room, the Knight's Chamber and beautiful paintings of Poland's history. -Your lunch break will be spend at the Palace of Culture and Science, a huge building of Russian architecture with columns flanked by splendid statues. The inside provides you with a variety of shops, food places and from the 30th floor enjoy a panoramic view of the city and its river Wista linked by many picturesque bridges. - The rest of the day is yours to do as you please. - Dinner tonight will be served at your hotel following by a private piano recital of Chopin's outstanding works.

DAY 03 Warsaw - Poznan
You leave Warsaw this morning with a stop at Zelazowa Wola, birthplace of famous composer Chopin to visit his former home which houses now a museum. - Then continue through Poland's central plains, historic places of invaders like the armies of Napoleon, Hitler and Stalin's Soviet Russians. Following a further stop en route for lunch you arrive the city of Poznan during the afternoon. Your sightseeing will include the old market square with its quaint burgher houses and the beautiful City Hall of Italian architecture. View Poznan's old castle, former residence of Great Dukes, you see the 9th century Cathedral, Opera House and visit the Museum of Musical Instruments. - Then transfer to your hotel in time for dinner.

DAY 04 Poznan - Berlin
Following breakfast your motor-coach takes you further westwards to Frankfurt on the River Oder, border for Germany and important junction between East and West Europe. An orientation drive of this old hanseatic city will show you its old university, built during the early 16th century and other places of interest. - Time for your lunch break before we continue our today's drive to Berlin, since 1991 once again capital of Germany. - Transfer to your hotel for dinner and the coming two nights.

DAY 05 Berlin - Potsdam
Your morning city tour of Berlin starts with a drive on the sweeping avenue Unter den Linden, passing the Brandenburg Gate with a photo stop, along the Reichstag building, now houses the German Parliament. We stop at Checkpoint Charlie, up to 1989 the crossing point between East and West Berlin. See the ruined Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedaechtniskirche, kept as a reminder of World War II and soon arrive at Kurfuerstendamm to browse on this prestigious street with miles of art galleries, boutiques, antique shops, cafes, restaurants and night clubs. - Following your lunch break we continue to near Potsdam to visit its famous Palace Sanssouci, built 1745 during the Period of Friedrich the Great. Admire the inside of this former summer residence that displays a magnificent collection of art treasures. - Close to the palace visit also the attractive park of Cecilienhof where in 1945 the Potsdam Agreement was signed. - During the later afternoon return to your hotel in Berlin for a farewell dinner.

DAY 06 Berlin - Last day of Tour
With your morning transfer to Berlin Airport your historic tour of Warsaw, Poznan, Berlin and Potsdam comes to an end. - Here, your Tour Director bids farewell to you -or why not just extend your stay with us to any other beautiful destination!
