| | DAY 01 Munich – transfer to Mellau/Austria
A warm welcome awaits you upon arrival at Munich's Airport by your Tour Director. - Your motorcoach transfer to Mellau in Austria's Vorarlberg region with a stop en route will take about three hours, your home for the following 6 nights. - Spend the rest of the day at leisure and join your Tour Director this evening for a welcome reception at your hotel and for dinner (6 overnights at Hotel Kreuz).
| | | | | | DAY 02 Excursion: Spectacular Gorge – Oberstdorf (Austria&Bavaria)
During the morning you leave for Breitachklamm, one of the most idyllic sights in Bavaria to view an impressive natural gorge with roaring torrents of water. Continue your drive to Mittelberg in Austria with another stop to enjoy this delightful town with dark timbered burgher houses. - From here travel back to Germany and stop in Oberstdorf, a most charming village right amidst the Bavarian Alps. Time is yours to browse around in this picturesque summer and winter sports resort - and why not shop for famous cuckoo-clocks still hand-made in this town. - Later and during the afternoon return to your hotel base in Mellau for dinner and overnight.

| | | | | | DAY 03 Excursion: Lucerne/Switzerland
This day excursion takes you first through Switzerland's Rhine Valley to lakeWalensee spreads its mirror beneath themighty Kurfirstenmountain chain. Following a scenic photo stop its on to Lucerne with a sightseeing. You will visit the great Lion Monument at the Glacier Garden, see the medieval Water Tower, its lovely river and lake district surrounded by the mountains Pilatus and Rigi and take a walk on Lucerne's famous Wooden Bridge of the 14th century with beautiful paintings depicting scenes of the city's history. - Ample time left within Lucerne's pedestrian zone lined with outside cafes, marvelous jewelry and antique shops before you return to Mellau in time for dinner.
Meals: B&D. | | | | | | DAY 04 Excursion: Arlberg Mountain – Innsbruck/Austria
Following breakfast your motorcoach route leads over the scenic mountain pass road Hochtannberg, passing world-famous ski resorts of Warth, Lech and Zuers with a stop, travelling over the Arlberg Pass to St. Anton to enjoy a colorful pasture sprinkled with wild flowers. - By way of Landeck we soon arrive at Tyrol's capital Innsbruck. Your sightseeing of one of Austria's most beautiful cities will show you arcades and arches where the Middle Ages are just around the corner! Enjoy from Maria-Theresien-Strasse a magnificent view of the northern mountain chain, rising up here to an altitude of about 8.000 feet. Among other sights and on an easy walk admire its famous Golden Dachl, a charming mansion with gilded copper shingles built for Emperor Maximilian I approximately 500 years ago. You will visit the Gothic Hofkirche and its fascinating Mausoleum with oversized bronze statues of former rulers like King Arthur of England, Maximilian I and of his ancestors. - Time is yours now to stroll around before we return to our hotel in Austria.
Meals: B&D. | | | | | | DAY 05 Excursion: St. Gallen – Rhine Falls – Mainau – Lindau (Switzerland&Bavaria)
Another beautiful excursion awaits you today as we drive into Switzerland by way of St. Gallen to view the former Benedictine Abbey, Switzerland's most important Baroque church and its Gothic Cathedral with two domed belfries. You continue your excursion via Winterthur to Schaffhausen to view the river tumbles over the famous Rhine Falls. - Not far from here we stop again at lovely Stein on the Rhine banks to experience some of the country's oldest burgher houses with stepped gables and most colorful facade paintings. - On to the western part of Lake Constance and its much visited Island Mainau to enjoy around the castle grounds a most splendid collection of tropical plants, rose gardens, hibiscus, magnolias but orange, lemon and even palm trees as well. - From Konstanz we cross the lake by ferry to Meersburg on the German side, dominated by the ancient Old Castle. From the Upper Town you will enjoy a panoramic view over Lake Constance and on a clear day as far as to the Swiss Alpine chain. - By way of Friedrichshafen, the „Zeppelin-City” of historic interest, we stop at picturesque peninsula Lindau to view on an easy walk half-timbered houses of the 16th and 17th century, the medieval Town Hall with beautiful paintings and the old lighthouse and lion monument commanding the entrance of Lindau's port. - Later, return to Mellau in Austria.
Meals: B&D. | | | | | | DAY 06 Excursion: Austria’s Alpine World – Vaduz (Austria&Liechtenstein)
Today's morning starts with a spectacular scenery of Austria's Vorarlberg mountains as your motorcoach takes you off the beaten tracks over the Furka Pass with a stop to view its breathtaking mountain scenery, woods and lovely valleys. - By way of Feldkirch we cross into Liechtenstein with a lunch break at its capital Vaduz, situated at the foot of the prince's castle. Here you will visit the world-famous Art Gallery with masterpieces by Leonardo da Vinci, Rubens, Rembrandt and/or others. - Enjoy some free time and don't forget to send some postcards from here with Liechtenstein's beautiful stamps! - On a side trip we travel to worth-seeing Werdenberg in Switzerland to view its castle on a picturesque lake and preserved burgher houses with some dating back to the 15th century still in its original architecture. - Then return to Mellau in time for freshen up and dinner at your hotel.
Meals: B&D. | | | | | | DAY 07 Mellau – Castle Neuschwanstein – Oberammergau – Munich (Austria & Bavaria)
We leave our base in Mellau this morning and journey along Immenstadt in Bavaria, a local region for milk products and arrive at King Ludwig's Cinderella Castle Neuschwanstein in Hohenschwangau. The inside tour will offer you unforgettable impressions of artistic woodcarving, splendid chandeliers and tapestries, an artificial grotto and impressive wall paintings showing scenes of Richard Wagner's most popular operas. Outside and from the Marienbruecke, which spans a deep gorge enjoy wonderful views of the Bavarian mountains and its lakes. On the way to Munich we stop at Wieskirche, also called the Church in the Meadows right amidst the Ammergau Alps. See its wonderful interior of marvelous woodcarvings, frescos, stuccoes and colorful paintings, masterpieces of the 18th century. - Following this break we drive to Oberammergau, home of the world-famous Passion Plays. See its beautiful Bavarian houses, the Theater which holds space for about 5.000 spectators and browse through inviting wood-carving stores. - Then it's on to Bavaria's capital Munich, Germany's cultural and artistic center for dinner and overnight.

Start your morning city sightseeing with Munich's landmark the Gothic Church of our Lady, see the splendid Sendlinger Gate, the beautiful City Hall with its famous Glockenspiel and the most celebrated Hofbraeuhaus that doesn't need much explanation. You will view the Residenz Palace, built during the 14th century for the former Bavarian Dukes. See the Olympic Stadium of 1972, the Nymphenburg Palace surrounded by a beautiful park and visit here the Royal Horse Carriage Museum with a great display of magnificent aches,sedan-chairs, the coronation coach of Emperor Karl VII and incomparable sledges of eccentric King Ludwig II. - The rest of the afternoon is yours to shop or browse around in Munich's pedestrian zone. - Tonight you are invited for dinner at one of the famous restaurants with local music and folklore entertainment. There will be also a drawing of valuable goods with everyone winning a present! We wish this last evening to be the most enjoyable one of your tour!

Following breakfast and during the hours of this morning you leave for Munich Airport. Here ends a most convenient leisure tour with a minimum of packing and unpacking. You are filled now with impressions of Austria's, Switzerland's and Bavaria's magnificent Alpine scenery and of its spectacular sights! We say „Auf Wiedersehen” and wish you a happy return!
