Let us take you to the beautiful and unmatched landscape of Switzerland while your base is in Interlaken set right at the impressive Mountain Jungfrau and amidst the lovely resort of the Bernese Oberland. Always out of the same hotel join us on half or full day excursions like on a steamer cruise, through gentle valleys, on spectacular pass roads over the Alps, to the most charming cities on Lake Geneva and its Chillon Castle,enjoy much visited Lucerne, travel up by cogwheel railway to Zermatt and admire its mighty Matterhorn and experience picturesque Grindelwald where glaciers flirt with forests and pasture!
DAY 01 Zurich - transfer to Interlaken
A warm welcome awaits you upon arrival Zurich Airport by your Tour Director. Before you leave for Interlaken an orientation drive of Switzerland's largest city will show the Peterskirche with its most famous 16th century clock, the tallest one in Europe. You also will see the copperspire church Frauenmuenster features stain-glass windows by Marc Chagall and nearby the picturesque Water Tower. Time is left to stroll on fancy shopping street Bahnhofstrasse and find at its south end a nice resting place with views of Lake Zurich. Then transfer to Interlaken and to your hotel, your base for the following days. At evening join your Tour Director for a welcome reception (7 overnights at Hotel Metropole).
DAY 02 Excursion: Interlaken and a Boat Cruise
Your morning starts today with a good Swiss breakfast, following a drive on Interlaken's famous avenue Hoheweg lined with hotels, shops, trees and with a brilliant mountain flora. Enjoy from here an incredible scenery with a good view of the Jungfrau Summit. We pass the elegant Casino of Interlaken and take a most beautiful boat excursion on Lake Thun to the charming town Spiez on the southern shore of its lake. Dominated by a 12th century castle, you will enjoy from its garden a memorable view of its town, the harbor and chalets nestle among the green belt. Time is yours to browse around before we sail back to Interlaken. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

DAY 03 Excursion: Gstaad - Montreux -Chillon Castle - Lausanne
The beautiful morning drive will take you first up to an altitude of 3.500ft to one of Switzerland's world-famous winter sports resort Gstaad with an orientation tour and a stop for strolling. Then your route continues to Montreux on Lake Geneva, stretches along the shore of a bay covered with woods and vineyards on its hilly sides. Time is yours perhaps for a walk on the lake side promenade lined with almond, mulberry and palm trees before we leave Montreux, also known for its Music Festivals and journey to near Chillon Castle, made famous by Lord Byron's "The Prisoner of Chillon". To enter this 13th century old castle you will cross a moat on a drawbridge and see great halls with an imposing fireplace, collections of ancient furniture, arms and suits of armor. Later, its on to the delightful shores of Lausanne to visit the Old Town center and market square with its Renaissance City Hall, to admire beautiful fountains and the Gothic Cathedral, built during the 12th and 13th century. From here you drive to Ouchy, a busy port at the lake-front of Lausanne to enjoy magnificent views of the city and its mountains. Return by way of medieval Fribourg in time for dinner in Interlaken.

DAY 04 Excursion: Berne & Lucerne
Today's excursion leads north with our first stop and sight-seeing in Berne, capital of Switzerland and one of Europe's best preserved medieval cities. You will visit the historic part of Old Berne and see its Church of the Holy Spirit, the Prison Tower Gate of the 13th century, the much photographed Clock Tower. Walk on lively Kramgasse and see old burgher houses with turrets and oriel windows, statues and beautiful fountains, before our route continues to Lucerne. You will walk on the city's landmark the 14th century wooden Chapel Bridge and see its colorful paintings, the picturesque Water Tower and famous Lion Monument at the Glacier Garden. Time is yours again to enjoy its lovely lake surrounded by the mountains Pilatus and Rigi. During the afternoon return to Interlaken over the scenic Bruenig Mountain Pass.

DAY 05 Excursion: Alps - Gruyerres - Geneva
Another breathtaking excursion starts this morning with a drive over the Jaun Pass with an altitude of about 4.500 ft and a stop to enjoy Alpine scenery. Then we go on to the fortified and medieval town of Gruyeres to see its 15th century Castle of the former local Counts. After a break it's time to visit a model Swiss Dairy for a cheese tasting and to have a look at its ripening area and cheese wheels of up to about 80 lbs. Following this demonstration the motorcoach takes us to Geneva, the city of reformist Calvin, Red Cross organization and second seat of the United Nations. You will see the Old Town with the Reformation Monument, St. Peter's Cathedral of the 12th and 13th century, the City Hall even of the 15th century with a beautiful courtyard and Palais des Nations. You stop at the harbor quay near Jet d'eau and view the world's tallest Fountain plays to a height up to 470 ft. Spend some time for shopping or browsing before we return in time for having our dinner at the hotel in Interlaken.

DAY 06 Excursion: Zermatt
A full day of most spectacular sights is waiting this morning while your drive leads first to the small town of Andermatt, crossroad of St. Gotthard Mountain. By way of Visp we arrive at the cog-wheel station in Taesch and climb up by a shuttle train to Zermatt. Enjoy this traffic-free mountain resort with its old Parish Church, inviting shops and watch mountaineers of all nationalities in the village attempting to reach the peak of the world famed Matterhorn. Ample time will be yours for browsing around before we return to Interlaken via the same scenic route.

DAY 07 Excursion: Grindelwald
The morning is yours in Interlaken to do as you please. Early afternoon you will participate in another most unforgettable excursion to near Grindelwald, also called the "Glacier Village". You will enjoy here not only high mountains, especially the north face of the mighty Eiger, but Alpine pastures, woods and fine chalets adapted as well. Spend the rest of the afternoon in this great mountain resort or take perhaps an optional excursion by rack-railway up to the Jungfraujoch at an altitude of over 10.000 ft to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view over the Swiss Alpine chain and its glacier world! This evening will be a festive occasion as we have dinner tonight at the International Casino of Interlaken and a drawing of valuable Swiss goods with everyone winning a present. We wish this last evening the most enjoyable one of your leisure tour!

DAY 08 Interlaken - Last day of tour
Following breakfast this morning your motorcoach will take you back to Zurich Airport. Bid "Uf Wiederluge" to a relaxing vacation in spectacular Switzerland and return home - or just extend your stay with us for another exciting destination in Europe...!
