8 hours This full day excursion will focus on castles and manor houses of Mecklenburg.
You start with a castle in the charming town of Guestrow. Situated in the northern part of Mecklenburg the castle Guestrow reflects an Italian style with splendid facades and equally splendid interior and means one of the most important Renaissance palaces in Germany. The „Guestrower Dom” (Guestrow Cathedral), a 5-min. walk away, was built in the 13th century and is worth seeing. On our tour towards the capital of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, you will stop for a break at the beautiful manor house „Basthorst”, with time for viewing and awalk to a lake nearby. You drive on to Schwerin – and you will find a city of amazing attractions, combining incredible architecture with fascinating history. The former residence castle of Schwerin is one of the most magnificent historic buildings in Germany. You may remember the pictures of the castles in fairytales. Take your chance to see that fabulous castle. While inside, you will see its vast collection of antique furniture and classic paintings. Before returning to the motor coach, explore Schwerin at your own. Enjoy a walk to the unique square „Alter Garten” with its attractive historical ensemble of the theatre, the Old Palais and the museum, with the biggest collection of Dutch art outside the Netherlands. After an exciting day get in your motor-coach for a scenic drive to Warnemuende via Wismar and the German autobahn.
