Exploring Hanseatic Rostock

From the pier in Warnemuende a 30-minutes drive takes you into Rostock. Discover the old Hanseatic town, founded in 1218. Starting with a sightseeing orientation drive followed by a walking tour of the historic center with its 15th and 16th century buildings. The venerable old Gothic brick-stone Church of St. Mary dominates the nearby market square. This church is famous for the world oldest astronomicalclock, still working with a clockwork from 1472. The tour shows you also remains of the old city wall - the Kroepeliner City Gate and the Stone Gate – and the Town Hall with its outstanding Gothic show-gable and its seven turrets. You will pay a visit to the Convent of the Holy Cross, which is the site of Cultural History Museum. Explore Rostock afterwards on your own: Kroepeliner Street, the shopping boulevard of the city, offers many souvenir shops and antique stores, charming cafes and a variety of restaurants for having a German beer.
At the appointed time, rejoin your motor-coach for return to Warnemuende where you will have time for a walk along the „Alter Strom” (Old River) or to explore the beautiful beach, before boarding the ship.
