You will start with a drive along the coast and through the rural historic Mecklenburg. A first stop will be made in Bad Doberan. Enjoy a visit inside of the Minster, one of the most important brick-stone buildings which is surrounded by a beautiful park. Inside the lovely church you find treasures from the 14th and 15th century such as the heavily guided high altar, one of Germany's earliest winged altars, and a statue of St. Mary, a masterpiece of woodwork. This outstanding Gothic cathedral makes Bad Doberan a worthwhile visit!
Close to the Minster, you are going to reach the station of the nostalgic Molli train and start your enjoyable ride towards Kuehlungsborn. The 45 minutes ride with this historic narrow-gauge train, in existence since early 1900 and pulled by an antique steam locomotive, is a highlight you will always remember. In Kuehlungsborn, a typical German home-made cake with a cup of coffee will be served at a seaside restaurant. Enjoy this beautiful shore town with its lovely beach before returning toWarnemuende. |
