The Baltic Capitals & Its Countries
Tallinn/Estonia – Riga/Latvia – Vilnius/Lithuania
Join us on a great tour of the Baltic States which all have gained their independence in 1991 and ever since then have become vacation destination for more and more visitors from all over the world. Primarily low land with natural lakes and woods these countries give evidence of a rich heritage and a colorful past with its magnificent monuments, residences, castles and numerous churches of any classical architecture. Traditional custom is still alive and a deep feeling of solidarity as of the year 1989 a long human chain has connected the distance between the cities of Tallinn and Vilnius!
DAY 01 Tallinn/Estonia
A warm welcome awaits you by your Tour Director upon arrival at the airport of Tallinn. - Transfer to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. - This evening join us for a welcome reception, brief orientation and for dinner at the hotel.

DAY 02 Tallinn
After a good breakfast you start this morning with a city tour of Estonia's great capital. See its medieval rampart and quaint streets in the lower part of town and visit St. Nicholas Church, built during the 13th century and dedicated to the patron saint of navigators. In the upper town of Tallinn see its old castle, built by Empress Catherine of Russia about 700 years ago, today houses the Parliament. Across the mighty Orthodox Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky, built at the end of the 19th century in neo-Byzantine architecture. - Before your lunch time visit the great Guild Building which houses the Museum of Estonian History. - The afternoon will be yours to do as you please, perhaps to explore the old town quarter and enjoy from the Observation Terrace a splendid view of the city and its surroundings.

DAY 03 Tallinn – Riga/Latvia
You leave Tallinn this morning southwards and travel through Estonia's low countryside, crossing small rivers, passing woodlands and picturesque lakes as we arrive at Paernu right at the Baltic Sea with a stop for break. Enjoy this inviting vacation resort with sandy beaches before we continue along the coast of the Baltic Sea to Ikla and into the State of Latvia. Passing lovely fishing villages right at the coast and arrive at your today's destination Riga, the capital of Latvia in time for dinner at your booked hotel.

DAY 04 Riga
Founded during the early 13th century by German colonists Riga soon became with its own university a prosperous Hanseatic post and one of the most important Baltic cities. The sightseeing will show you Riga's Cathedral with architectural parts of Roman times, its splendid organ decorated with angels from the 16th century. Following is a visit at the Castle Museum of Latvian History to become more acquainted with their way of living. - You see the old Powder Tower, part of the wall still surrounding the city since the 14th century. - Stroll through picturesque alleys lined with attractive merchant houses, some in English Tudor style going back to its 15th and 16th century. - After your lunch break a leisurely excursion takes you to the beautiful Baroque palace Rundale Castle of the 18th century to see its magnificent apartments designed by an Italian architect who also built theWinter Palace in St. Petersburg for the Tsarina Elisabeth. - Then enjoy a walk in the lovely castle park before we return to Riga for dinner and another overnight.

DAY 05 Riga – Vilnius/Lithuania
Following breakfast you leave Riga and the country of Latvia for Grenctale, the frontier for Lithuania, finally in 1991 declared its independence from Russia. - By way of Panevezys, important junction for the Baltic Sea and Russia, we further pass small towns and a charming landscape as we arrive at the capital of Vilnius, surrounded be wooded hills and with its marvelous monuments and buildings of different architecture. - Transfer to your hotel for dinner and for the following two nights.

DAY 06 Vilnius
Your morning starts with a good breakfast and a sightseeing tour of its historic center to visit remains of an old fortress with a beautiful view of the city's narrow streets, Baroque buildings and churches adorn the country's capital. You visit the imposing Cathedral and its remarkable Chapel of St. Casimir, dedicated to the patron saint of Lithuania with a splendid stucco and frescos depicting his life. See the Bell Tower with its unique carillon and the 16th century old University founded b Jesuits, surrounded by several courtyards and other buildings of classical architecture. - You visit the Artillery Bastion which houses a collection of weapons and the National Museum of Culture and History with a display of archeological and ethical collection as well as reconstruction of typical Lithuanian buildings. - The rest of the day is yours to stroll perhaps the charming streets, once known as the „Jerusalem of Lithuania”. - Tonight enjoy a farewell dinner at your hotel and as a surprise there will be a drawing of valuable goodswith everyone winning a present!

DAY 07 Vilnius – Last day of tour
Following breakfast last day of your tour you say goodbye to the Baltic States and its friendly people as you transfer to the airport of Vilnius for your return flight - or why not extend your stay with us for additional beautiful European destinations!
